How many IUI cycles should I try before considering IVF?+

Most specialists recommend 3–6 IUI cycles before considering IVF, depending on your age and diagnosis. Women over 38, or those with a more complex fertility issue, may be advised to move to IVF sooner — typically after 2–3 unsuccessful cycles.

Do I need to rest after IUI?+

No strict bed rest is necessary. You may be asked to lie down for 10–15 minutes after the procedure, but you can return to normal daily activities including gentle work afterwards. Avoid strenuous exercise on the day of the procedure.

What is the minimum sperm count required for IUI?+

After washing, a minimum of 5–10 million total motile sperm (TMSC) is generally considered adequate for IUI. If counts are below this threshold, IVF with ICSI is usually recommended for better success rates.

What is the chance of twins with IUI?+
